MISSION STATEMENT

Family violence in whatever form will not be tolerated in our communities. It must be eliminated by improving and expanding our institutional and professional initiatives. We will foster individual and community responsibility for identification, prevention, education and intervention by providing appropriate services to victims of all types of domestic abuse, including but not limited to violence against women, child abuse, partner abuse, elder abuse and abuse of people with disabilities. We will promote education for the general public, and training for professionals who provide victim services, including but not limited to criminal justice, medical and social service personnel. We will afford every possible opportunity for change. Promoting autonomy, restitution, accountability and victim safety are central to the mission of the Council.
