ACTIVITY
The principal activity of the Fourth Circuit Juvenile Justice Council since its inception is the establishment of a Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative within the Fourth Circuit. The council planned and presented a circuitwide Juvenile Detention Alternative Symposium on November 17, 2006. This symposium was attended by over one hundred-fifty people representing all nine counties within the circuit. The council also obtained a grant from the JDAI partnership for the establishment of a database on juveniles detained and incarcerated within the circuit.
